History of the manufacturer

The history of Nexen began in 1942 in South Korea under the name Heung-A Tire. In 1956, it produced the first tire for a passenger vehicle, thus becoming the first Korean tire manufacturer. In 2000, the company changed its name to Nexen Tire, which it uses to this day. The company operates four manufacturing plants – two in Korea, one in China, and the fourth plant in the Czech Republic. Nexen Tire was the first company in Korea to develop a tire with a V tread pattern, known as a directional tread. This type of tread was designed for better water discharge and improved performance on wet surfaces.
